A note from our friends at RAD Intel(ad)

Still image from a TV interview with RAD Intel CEO Jeremy Barnett

The early AI winners were obvious in hindsight.

This one is in front of investors today.

The first AI wave rewarded hardware. The next may reward the companies that turn intelligence into business performance.

AI tech with validated commercial purpose. Multiple seven-figure contracts with Fortune 1000 brands. In 2026, RAD again achieved Preferred Partner status across Omnicom agencies. Sales contracts grew 10X from 2025 to 2026.

Current allocations remain limited.

RAD Intel’s Regulation CF round is now open to all investors.

Coinbase and Strategy Report Tonight with Bitcoin at $80,000

Two of the most options-active names in the market report after the close today, and both reports hinge on the same variable: a bitcoin price that has spent the past 24 hours oscillating between roughly $79,600 and $81,300 before settling near $80,000. That is not a coincidence. It is the story. Coinbase earns its take-rate on crypto volume that scales with price. Strategy’s entire income statement is, mechanically, a mark-to-market on 848,000 bitcoin acquired at an average cost of roughly $75,441. These are not parallel events. They are a correlated double event, and the options market is charging accordingly.

Robinhood already provided the first data point Tuesday. Its crypto revenue collapsed 55% year-over-year to $120 million in Q3, with trading volume down 38% to $50 billion. The stock fell roughly 5% after hours. That result is the baseline reading for what a sustained drawdown in bitcoin price does to exchange-level revenues across the retail segment. Coinbase and Strategy now have to answer whether their Q3 results confirm or contradict that signal.

The Numbers on the Table

For Coinbase, the consensus calls for revenue of approximately $1.2 billion, down roughly 37% from the $1.87 billion reported in Q3 2025. The consensus EPS estimate sits at a loss of about $0.15 to $0.19 per share, a stark reversal from the $1.44 earned in the year-ago quarter. The bar has been moving lower: the Zacks estimate was revised 66.7% downward in the past seven days alone. Coinbase has beaten consensus EPS in just one of the past four quarters, with the average negative surprise running at 128.56%. The Q2 2026 report was the most recent miss, with actual EPS of negative $1.36 against an estimate of about negative $0.44, and revenue of $1.22 billion coming in below the Street’s expectations.

For Strategy, the consensus EPS estimate spans a wide range, with EarningsWhispers showing $21.50 and TipRanks quoting $17.25. The disparity reflects the inherent difficulty of modeling digital-asset mark-to-market. Bitcoin opened October at roughly $83,554 and has since declined modestly into the $80,000 area. Against Strategy’s average acquisition cost of $75,441 per bitcoin, the position remains in the black. Core software revenue is expected near $128 million. The balance sheet entering Q3 shows total debt near $6.8 billion, down from about $8.2 billion, following a Q2 convertible note repurchase.

What the Options Market Is Pricing

COIN’s at-the-money straddle implies a move of approximately 9.5% in either direction by Friday’s close, consistent across TipRanks, Barchart, and independent previews. Barchart’s expected-move calculation puts COIN’s 30-day implied volatility at roughly 64%, with an IV rank near 32 and an IV percentile at 71. Elevated percentile against a moderate rank signals that volatility has recently risen from subdued levels, not that it is pressing historical highs. That matters for premium sellers: the crush after the event may be meaningful, but IV is not stretched enough to make short premium structurally compelling. Coinbase has exceeded the implied move in five of its past eight earnings releases. On July 30, options priced a 7.3% move and shares fell 12%. On October 30, 2024, options priced 8.4% and shares fell 14.9%.

MSTR’s implied move sits closer to about 7.9% to 8.5%, with 30-day IV near the high-60s and an IV rank of approximately 22. As one options analytics firm notes, MSTR’s IV tracks bitcoin volatility more than it tracks the earnings calendar, which means the event premium here is structurally thinner relative to the realized volatility the stock regularly produces. MSTR’s post-earnings announcement drift has been strongly positive since its July 30 report, though that figure is heavily skewed by bitcoin’s directional swings post-release rather than by any fundamental earnings surprise.

Structured Trade Framework

Bull case, COIN: If transaction revenue recovers sequentially on any improvement in spot volumes and subscription and services revenue holds above $500 million, the path to a gap above $200 opens. For traders expecting this outcome, a defined-risk long call spread in the November expiry, buying the $175 call and selling the $200 call, captures the breakout without full exposure to a crush in front-month IV.

Bear case, COIN: A repeat of the Q2 pattern, where revenue came in below expectations and EPS missed sharply, would pressure the stock toward its $150 support. Short interest at 10.8% of float means a meaningful portion of the market already holds this view. A defined-risk put spread buying the $160 put and selling the $140 put caps downside risk while targeting that level.

Bull case, MSTR: If bitcoin holds above $80,000 through the report and Strategy’s mark-to-market gain is sizable, MSTR’s mNAV premium may re-expand. A call spread or long call on the November 30 expiry captures directional upside with defined risk ahead of an inherently volatile event.

Neutral case, both: For traders expecting the event to resolve without a decisive trend break, a short iron condor on either name collects the elevated event premium, with risk capped on both wings. Given COIN’s IV percentile at 71, this structure carries more edge on Coinbase than on Strategy, where rank is lower.

Risk Analysis and Forward Outlook

The Federal Reserve held rates at 3.75%-4.00% in a 10-2 vote on October 28, with two dissents favoring a further hike. That result removes immediate shock risk but leaves the rate ceiling unclear, which historically suppresses speculative crypto volumes. The $79,000-$80,000 zone in bitcoin has now been tested multiple times this week. A break below that level before Friday’s open would alter the fundamental assumptions embedded in both reports. Strategy’s cost basis provides a buffer, but a drop toward $75,000 erodes it quickly. Coinbase’s take-rate is volume-dependent; price direction matters less than the trading activity a given price environment generates.

The rate ceiling is only one policy variable compressing speculative crypto volumes. Crypto regulation and the Senate legislative calendar have been the second macro lever keeping risk appetite in digital assets suppressed through 2026.

Action Checklist:

  • Verify COIN and MSTR after-hours reactions against the implied move ranges of 9.5% and about 8% respectively before sizing any position.
  • Check Q3 transaction revenue against the $1.2 billion COIN consensus and Robinhood’s 55% crypto revenue decline as a directional reference.
  • Monitor bitcoin’s $79,000-$80,000 support level for intraday confirmation before initiating any directional structure in MSTR.
  • Defined-risk structures only: event IV crush is meaningful post-announcement in both names.
  • Watch for COIN subscription and services revenue guidance as the primary signal on whether the exchange is successfully diversifying away from spot trading volatility.
